MDTA POLICE TO HONOR AGENCY'S TOP COPS DURING ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY

BALTIMORE, MD -- The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police will hold its Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 11, to honor sworn and civilian members who have distinguished themselves through their hard work and dedication during 2011.

"We are proud of every one of these men and women who will be honored on Wednesday evening, said MDTA Police Senior Commander Mjr. Michael Kundrat. This group represents the best of the best and it is a pleasure to recognize them for their efforts."

The event will take place from 6 - 8:30 p.m. at the Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville Campus, Building Q, Theatre located at 800 S. Rolling Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.  

The MDTA Police Officer of the Year will be announced, as well as recipients the Award of Excellence, Lifesaving Award, Distinguished Service Award and Chief's Commendation awards, among others.  During the ceremony, recently promoted officers also will be recognized.  Award recipients may be nominated by citizens or fellow employees. The nominations are investigated and reviewed by the awards committee for consideration.
