Facility: Bay Bridge (US 50/301)

Three Right Toll Lanes/Booths Closed 24/7 to Begin Work

The three right toll lanes and associated toll booths at the Bay Bridge toll plaza (eastbound US 50) will be continuously (24/7) closed for approximately 45 days (first stage of work).  Motorists should use the remaining open toll lanes and booths to the left of the closure.  As work progresses, these toll lanes will reopen and others will close.  Pay attention to overhead and portable electronic signs.

The toll booth lane closures are part of the MDTA's $4.5 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete pavement on the approach to the Bay Bridge toll plaza along eastbound US 50.  Three toll lanes will be closed at a time starting on the right side of the plaza.  The project is expected to be complete in spring 2015.

Since the far right toll lane is designated for permit vehicles, all approved permit vehicles will be detoured.  The signed detour route will direct permit vehicles to eastbound US 50 Exit 32, to Oceanic Drive, to Skidmore Road, to the first driveway on the left, where drivers must stop on the left shoulder and wait for an MDTA Police officer.

Loads over 10 feet wide may only move Monday through Friday, from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m., and Monday through Thursday, from 2:30 to 3 p.m.  All permit loads should call the MDTA Police at 410-295-8150 at least one hour prior to arrival at the bridge.  Note: vehicles over 10 feet wide cannot physically get through the remaining open toll lanes.
