THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Motorists urged to use alternate routes to get in or around Downtown

The MD Transportation Authority (MDTA) would like to advise motorists of anticipated heavy traffic due to events taking place in the Downtown/Inner Harbor areas of Baltimore City on Thursday, September 5.

The NFL Kickoff event is set to open gates at 6:00 p.m. adjacent to the Maryland Science Center while the Orioles game at Camden Yards is set to start at 7:05 p.m.  Event-goers are encouraged to use Russell Street (Exit 52) or I-395 (Exit 53) if traveling northbound I-95 and I-395 (Exit 53) if traveling southbound I-95 to Downtown parking facilities.

Motorists headed into Downtown should also consider alternate routes, such as I-83, US 40, ODonnell/Boston Street (Exit 57), Eastern Avenue (Exit 59) or Caton Avenue (Exit 50) to Washington Boulevard.

Motorists are urged to take the Francis Scott Key Bridge (I-695) or the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel (I-895) if their destinations are north or south of Baltimore.
