Facility: (I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel

(I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel Closures for the Week of December 30, 2013

The following closures are tentatively scheduled at the Fort McHenry Tunnel the week of December 30, 2013 through January 5, 2014:

  • Monday 12/30 - No Closures
  • Tuesday 12/31 - No Closures
  • Wednesday 1/01 - No Closures                                  
  • Thursday 1/02 - Bore 2  for maintenance operations
  •  Friday 1/03 - Bore 2 for maintenance operations
  •  Saturday 1/04 - No Closures

This is a tentative schedule subject to change due to weather, heavy traffic, incidents or priority closures.

Bay Bridge (US 50/301)

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of Dec. 29, 2013 - Jan. 4, 2014

 

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 

 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

 

The westbound span may be closed Sunday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Monday and Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections. 

Monday and Thursday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.

WORK TO RESULT IN SINGLE-LANE CLOSURE ON

SOUTHBOUND I-895 IN BALTIMORE CITY SATURDAY

 

WHAT: Weather-permitting, the right lane of southbound I-895 from the K-Truss Steel Bridge to the I-895 spur will be closed temporarily to traffic.  The left lane will remain open.

WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHY: Crews will be performing concrete pours.

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Closures for the Week of December 16, 2013

The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evening of December 16th   for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:30am the following morning.

The Eastbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of December 18th & 19th for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:30am the following mornings.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time with little notice due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.

CONCRETE POURS SCHEDULED FOR HATEM BRIDGE

(US 40) UNDERWATER REPAIRS ON DEC. 18

Work to result in construction-related noise and additional truck traffic

  

WHAT:           The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has scheduled concrete pours for foundation repair work on the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40) in Harford and Cecil counties. Nearby residents, motorists, business owners and their customers may experience higher than normal levels of construction-related noise and additional truck traffic during this time.  The truck route is as follows:  Westbound US 40, to Otsego Street, to Water Street.

WHEN:           Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Thursday, Dec. 19.

WHY:              Work is part of a preservation project to perform underwater foundation (concrete piers/bridge supports) repairs to the Hatem Bridge and is necessary to secure the structural integrity of the bridge piers.

 

The nearly $48 million project is anticipated to be complete by fall 2014.  A similar project to perform underwater foundation and substructure repairs to the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway (Interstate 95) began in October 2011.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 5, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lanes 6 or 9.

Monday through Thursday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.

CONCRETE POURS SCHEDULED FOR TYDINGS BRIDGE (I-95) UNDERWATER REPAIRS ON DEC. 14 - 15

Work to result in construction-related noise and additional truck traffic

 

WHAT:           The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has scheduled concrete pours for foundation repair work on the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway (I-95).  Nearby residents, motorists, business owners and their customers may experience higher than normal levels of construction-related noise and additional truck traffic during this time.  The truck route is as follows: I-95 to MD 222 (Perryville Road), to U.S. 40, to Coudon Boulevard, to MD 7 (Philadelphia Road), to Roundhouse Drive.

WHEN:           Saturday, Dec. 14, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec 15.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Saturday, Dec. 21 through Sunday, Dec. 22.
