WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF RAMP FROM RUSSELL STREET TO NORTHBOUND MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BOULEVARD THIS FRIDAY

 

 

WHAT:           Weather permitting, the ramp from eastbound Russell Street to northbound Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard will be closed temporarily to traffic.  Traffic will be detoured to southbound  I-395, to southbound I-95, to Caton Avenue (Exit 50), to northbound I-95, to northbound I-395 (Exit 53), to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.                     

WHEN:           Friday, Nov. 1, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.

WHY:              Crews will be performing barrier wall repairs.

CONCRETE POURS SCHEDULED FOR HATEM BRIDGE (US 40) UNDERWATER REPAIRS ON NOV. 2

Work to result in construction-related noise and additional truck traffic

 

WHAT:           The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has scheduled concrete pours for foundation repair work on the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40) in Harford and Cecil counties. Nearby residents, motorists, business owners and their customers may experience higher than normal levels of construction-related noise and additional truck traffic during this time.  The truck route is as follows: I-95 to MD 222(Perryville Road), to U.S. 40, to Coudon Boulevard, to MD 7 (Philadelphia Road), to Roundhouse Drive.

WHEN:           Saturday, Nov. 2, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Saturday, Nov. 9.

WHY:              Work is part of a preservation project to perform underwater foundation (concrete piers/bridge supports) repairs to the Hatem Bridge and is necessary to secure the structural integrity of the bridge piers.

 

The nearly $48 million project is anticipated to be complete by fall 2014.  A similar project to perform underwater foundation and substructure repairs to the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway (Interstate 95) began in October 2011.

ROUTINE INSPECTIONS TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF RAMP FROM NORTHBOUND I-95 TO MORAVIA ROAD

THIS SATURDAY

  

WHAT:           Weather permitting, the exit ramp in Baltimore City from northbound I-95 to Moravia Road (Exit 60) will be closed temporarily to traffic.  Traffic will be detoured to eastbound Pulaski Highway (US 40, Exit 61), to northbound 66th Street, to westbound Philadelphia Road (US 7), to Moravia Park Drive, to Moravia Road.                  

WHEN:           Saturday, Nov. 2, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHY:              Inspectors will be conducting routine annual facility inspections.

**REMINDER**

NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN BEGINS OCT. 29

AT I-95/MD 43 INTERCHANGE EXIT RAMPS

New single exit ramp for eastbound AND westbound MD 43

Exit 67 to replace Exits 67A/B

WHAT:          Weather permitting, the exit ramps from northbound and southbound I-95 to eastbound and westbound MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) will be converted into a single exit ramp (Exit 67). Currently, traffic exits I-95 to MD  43 via Exits 67A and 67B.  The new single exit ramp will direct traffic to a split  for either eastbound or westbound MD 43.  Please note that access to eastbound and westbound MD 43 (Exit 67) will now come prior to passing under MD 43 on I-95.

WHEN:          The exit ramp switch will occur for northbound I-95 in time for Tuesday morning commuters and for southbound I-95 on or about Friday, Nov. 15, after which the new traffic pattern shown below will be in effect. 

WHY:             The work is part of the reconstruction of the I-95/MD 43 interchange for the MD Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETLSM) Project.

 I95 / MD 43 Interchange Map Fall 2013

Bay Bridge (US 50/301) Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns Scheduled for the Week of Oct. 27 - Nov. 2, 2013

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 

 TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

The westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  

Monday through Thursday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Closures for the Week of October 28, 2013

The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. on the evening of October 28 and 29, 2013, for maintenance operations.  Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00 a.m. the following morning.

The Eastbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. on the evening of October 30 and 31, 2013, for maintenance operations.  Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00 a.m. the following morning.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time with little notice due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents or priority closures.

(I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel Closures for the Week of October 28, 2013

The following closures are tentatively scheduled at the Fort McHenry Tunnel the week of October 28 through November 3, 2013:

  • Monday 10/28 - Bore 2 for maintenance operations
  • Tuesday 10/29 - Bore 2 for maintenance operations
  • Wednesday 10/30 - Bore 2 for maintenance operations                                  
  • Thursday 10/31 - Bore 2 for maintenance operations
  •  Friday 11/01 - No Closures
  •  Saturday 11/02 - No Closures

This is a tentative schedule subject to change due to weather, heavy traffic, incidents or priority closures.

(I-695) CURTIS CREEK DRAWBRIDGE OPENING SCHEDULED FOR OCT. 24, 2013

The (I-695) Curtis Creek Drawbridge will open for U.S. Coast Guard water traffic on Oct. 24, 2013.  Drawbridge will remain open until water traffic passes beneath.

DRAWBRIDGE SCHEDULE:

  1. Thursday, Oct. 249 a.m.

(I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel Closures for the Week of October 21, 2013

The following closures are tentatively scheduled at the Fort McHenry Tunnel the week of October 21 through 27, 2013:

  • Monday 10/21 - Bore 3 for maintenance operations
  • Tuesday 10/22 - Bore 3 for maintenance operations
  • Wednesday 10/23 - Bore 3 for maintenance operations                                  
  • Thursday 10/24 - Bore 3 for maintenance operations
  •  Friday 10/25 - No Closures
  •  Saturday 10/26 - No Closures

This is a tentative schedule subject to change due to weather, heavy traffic, incidents or priority closures.

RAMP FROM SOUTHBOUND I-95 TO WESTBOUND EASTERN AVENUE WILL BE CLOSED THIS WEEKEND

Friday, Oct. 18, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, the ramp from southbound I-95 to Eastern Avenue (Exit 59) will be partially closed for Baltimore City repair work on Eastern Avenue.  The ramp's two right lanes to westbound Eastern Avenue will be closed. 

The detour route will direct motorists to eastbound Eastern Avenue, to North Point Boulevard, to westbound Eastern Avenue.

One of the lanes to westbound Eastern Avenue may reopen Saturday and the detour will be removed.  Ramp lane reopening is subject to pending work progress.
