Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of Nov. 10 - 16, 2013


All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 




The westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections. 

On Saturday from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning, overhead lane signals will experience temporary outages due to electrical work.  Drivers should stay alert and obey all traffic-control devices.

Monday through Thursday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.

The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. on the evenings of November 12 through 14, 2013, for inspections and washing operations.  Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00 a.m. the following morning.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time with little notice due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents or priority closures.





WHAT: Weather-permitting, the right lane of southbound I-95 from Caton Avenue (Exit 50) to I-695 (Exit 49) will be closed temporarily to traffic.  Three lanes will remain open.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 9, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHY: Crews will be performing tree removal.
