**REVISED** THREE MONTH CLOSURE OF RAMP FROM POTEE STREET/PATAPSCO AVENUE TO NORTHBOUND I-895

Detor Map

WHAT: Weather-permitting, the entrance ramp from Potee Street/Patapsco Avenue to northbound I-895 in Baltimore City will be continuously closed (24/7) for approximately three months.

The detour route will direct motorists to I-895 via Frankfurst Avenue.

WHEN:  On or about Friday, April 5, to Sunday, July 7.  Crews will begin closing the ramp on Friday, April 5, at 10 p.m.

WHY:  Repairs to the I-895 Potee Street and Patapsco Avenue entrance and exit ramps are part of the MD Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) project to replace the decks of the I-895 bridges over Patapsco Avenue, Potee Street and Hanover Street.

The $12.6 million facility preservation project began in fall 2012 and is scheduled to be complete by summer 2014.  Northbound and southbound I-895 lanes are reduced to 10.5 feet (left lane) and 11.5 feet (right lane).  A continuous three-month closure of the ramp from southbound I-895 to Potee Street (Exit 7) is expected to begin on or about July 7.

CONCRETE POURS SCHEDULED FOR TYDINGS BRIDGE (I-95) UNDERWATER REPAIRS ON APRIL 6 - 7

Work to result in construction-related noise and additional truck traffic

WHAT:           The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has scheduled concrete pours for foundation repair work on the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway (I-95).  Nearby residents, motorists, business owners and their customers may experience higher than normal levels of construction-related noise and additional truck traffic during this time.  The truck route is as follows:   I-95 to MD 222 (Perryville Road), to U.S. 40, to Coudon Boulevard, to MD 7 (Philadelphia Road), to Roundhouse Drive.

WHEN:           Saturday, April 6, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Saturday, April 13 through Sunday, April 14.

WHY:              Work is part of a preservation project to perform underwater foundation  (concrete piers/bridge supports) repairs to the Tydings Bridge and is necessary to secure the structural integrity of the bridge piers.

The nearly $43 million project is anticipated to be complete by late 2013.  A similar project to perform underwater foundation and substructure repairs to the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40) in Harford and Cecil counties began in April 2012.
