The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. on the evenings of May 20, 21 and 22, 2013, for concrete roadway work, priority lighting repairs and maintenance operations.  Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:30 a.m. the following mornings.

The Eastbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. on the evenings of May 22, 2013, for concrete roadway work and maintenance operations.  Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00 a.m. the following mornings.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time with little notice due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents or priority closures.

Facility: (I-695) FSK, Curtis Creek Drawbridge

(I-695) CURTIS CREEK DRAWBRIDGE OPENINGS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 24 - 28, 2013 

The (I-695) Curtis Creek Drawbridge will open for U.S. Coast Guard water traffic on May 24 - 28, 2013.  Drawbridge will remain open until water traffic passes beneath.

DRAWBRIDGE SCHEDULE:

  1. Friday, May 24 - 9:00 a.m.
  2. Tuesday, May 28 - 10:30 a.m.

CONCRETE POURS SCHEDULED FOR HATEM BRIDGE (US 40) UNDERWATER REPAIRS ON MAY 18 - 19

Work to result in construction-related noise and additional truck traffic

 

WHAT:           The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has scheduled concrete pours for foundation repair work on the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40) in Harford and Cecil counties. Nearby residents, motorists, business owners and their customers may experience higher than normal levels of construction-related noise and additional truck traffic during this time.  The truck route is as follows:  Westbound US 40, to Otsego Street, to Water Street.

WHEN:           Saturday, May 18, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Wednesday, May 22 through Thursday, May 23.

WHY:              Work is part of a preservation project to perform underwater foundation (concrete piers/bridge supports) repairs to the Hatem Bridge and is necessary to secure the structural integrity of the bridge piers.

 

The nearly $48 million project is anticipated to be complete by fall 2014.  A similar project to perform underwater foundation and substructure repairs to the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway (Interstate 95) began in October 2011.

BRIDGE DECK REPAIRS TO RESULT IN OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF RAMP FROM       NORTHBOUND I-95 TO MORAVIA ROAD

THIS THURSDAY

 

 

WHAT:            Weather permitting, the exit ramp in Baltimore City from northbound I-95 to Moravia Road (Exit 60) will be closed temporarily to traffic.

 WHEN:           Thursday, May 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the exit from northbound I-95 to Moravia Road (Exit 60) is scheduled to be closed.                      

                         The detour route will direct motorists to eastbound Pulaski Highway (US 40, Exit 61), to northbound 66th Street, to westbound Philadelphia Road (US 7), to Moravia Park Drive, to Moravia Road.

 WHY:              Crews will be performing routine bridge deck repairs.

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Closures for the Week of May 14, 2013

The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of May 14, 15 and 16, 2013 for concrete roadway work, priority lighting repairs and maintenance operations.  Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am the following mornings.

(I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel Closures for the Week of May 13, 2013

The following closures are tentatively scheduled at the Fort McHenry Tunnel the week of May 13, 2013 through May 19, 2013:

  • Monday 5/13 - Bore 3 for tunnel washing        
  • Tuesday 5/14 - Bore 2 & Bore 3 for scheduled maintenance
  • Wednesday 5/15 - Bore 3 for tunnel washing
  • Thursday 5/16 - Bore 3 for tunnel washing
  • Friday 5/17 - No closures scheduled
  • Saturday 5/18 - No closures scheduled
  • Sunday 5/19 - No closures scheduled  

This is a tentative schedule subject to change due to weather, heavy traffic, incidents or priority closures.

OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF I-95 IN

WHITE MARSH ON MONDAY, MAY 13

Closures part of I-95 Express Toll LanesSM Project

 

Weather permitting, the following closure and detour is scheduled to take place Monday, May 13, from midnight to 5 a.m. the following morning for crews to perform bridge demolition work and removal.

All lanes of northbound I-95 at the MD 43 interchange (White Marsh Boulevard) in Northeast Baltimore will be temporarily closed for overnight work.

·        Traffic will be detoured to Exit 67A (eastbound White Marsh Boulevard), to eastbound MD 7 (Philadelphia Road), to westbound White Marsh Boulevard, to northbound I-95.

The work is part of the reconstruction of the I-95/MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) interchange for the MD Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETLsSM) Project.

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of May 12 – 18, 2013

 

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 

 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

 

The westbound span may be closed Sunday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. , Tuesday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning and Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

On Tuesday from approximately 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., periodic 10-15 minute traffic drags, during which police will bring vehicles to a reduced pace prior to the work zone, are scheduled on eastbound and westbound US 50 between Exits 38 and 39 (Eastern Shore prior to bridge) for installation of an overhead message sign.

One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 5, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lanes 6 or 9. 

REMINDER: NEW lane markings and rumble strips have been installed  on the westbound span.  Lane changes between the left and center lanes are PROHIBITED for the entire span.

Kennedy Memorial Highway (I-95).   Nearby residents, motorists, business owners and their customers may experience higher than normal levels of construction-related noise and  additional truck traffic during this time.  The truck route is as follows:   I-95 to MD 222 (Perryville Road), to U.S. 40, to Coudon Boulevard, to MD 7 (Philadelphia Road), to Roundhouse Drive.

 WHEN:           Saturday, May 11, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 12.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Saturday, May 18 through Sunday, May 19.

 WHY:              Work is part of a preservation project to perform underwater foundation (concrete piers/bridge supports) repairs to the Tydings Bridge and is necessary to secure the structural integrity of the bridge piers.
