OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OF RAMP FROM SOUTHBOUND I-95 TO WESTBOUND MD 43 NEXT WEEK

Closures part of I-95 Express Toll LanesSM Project

 

WHAT:           Weather-permitting, Exit 67B from southbound I-95 to westbound MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) will be temporarily closed for night work.

The detour route will direct motorists to eastbound MD 43 (Exit 67A), to eastbound MD 7, to westbound MD 43.

WHEN:           Monday, July 15, through Thursday, July 18, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

WHY:              The work is part of the reconstruction of the I-95/MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) interchange for the Maryland Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETLsSM) Project.

Bay Bridge (US 50/301)

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of July 14 – 20, 2013

 

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 

 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

 

The westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work. 

One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 5, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lanes 6 or 9.

The MDTA offers the following travel tips for the summer months:

·         Travel off-peak when heading to and from the Eastern Shore.  The best times to travel the Bay Bridge on weekends include:

  •          Friday – before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
  •          Saturday – before 7 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
  •          Sunday – before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.

Reminder:  The cash toll rate for two-axle vehicles is $6.  For toll rates, visit mdta.maryland.gov and click on Toll Rate Calculator.  Pay attention to new lane markings and rumble strips on the Bay Bridge westbound span.  Lane changes between the westbound left and center lanes are prohibited for the entire span, whether or not two-way operations are in effect.

Facility: (I-695) FSK, Curtis Creek Drawbridge

(I-695) CURTIS CREEK DRAWBRIDGE OPENINGS SCHEDULED FOR WEEK OF JULY 15 - 19 

The (I-695) Curtis Creek Drawbridge will open for U.S. Coast Guard water traffic on July 17, 2013.  Drawbridge will remain open until water traffic passes beneath.

DRAWBRIDGE SCHEDULE:

  1. Wednesday, July 17 - 12:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
