Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Closures for the Week of January 27, 2013

The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00 p.m. on the evening of January 27 & 28, 2014   for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:30 a.m. the following morning.

The Eastbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00 p.m. on the evenings of January 29 & 30, 2014 for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:30 a.m. the following mornings.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time with little notice due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.

Facility: (I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel

(I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel Closures for the Week of January 27, 2014

The following closures are tentatively scheduled at the Fort McHenry Tunnel the week of January 27, 2014 through February 2, 2014:

  • Monday 1/27 - Bore 2 closed for maintenance operations
  • Tuesday 1/28 - Bore 2 closed for maintenance operations
  • Wednesday 1/29 - Bore 2 closed for maintenance operations
  • Thursday 1/30 - Bore 2 and Bore 4 closed for maintenance operations
  •  Friday 1/31 - Bore 1 closed for maintenance operations
  •  Saturday 2/1 - Bore 2 closed for maintenance operations
  • Sunday 2/2 - No Closures Scheduled

This is a tentative schedule subject to change due to weather, heavy traffic, incidents or priority closures.

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of Jan. 26 - Feb. 1, 2014

 

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 

 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

 

The westbound span may be closed Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning and Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

The eastbound span may be closed Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work. 

One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 5, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lanes 6 or 9.

Monday through Thursday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.
