WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT LANE CLOSURES OF I-95 IN CECIL COUNTY MAY 18 - 21

  

WHAT:           Weather permitting, two lanes of northbound and southbound I-95 between MD 222 (Exit 93) and MD 272 (Exit 100) in Cecil County will be temporarily closed for overnight work.  Motorists should consider using US 40 as an alternate route.  

WHEN:           Sunday, May 18 through Wednesday, May 21, from 11 p.m. to  5 a.m. the following morning, the two lanes of northbound and southbound I-95 will be closed.  Traffic will continue in the remaining open lane in each direction. 

WHY:              Work related to York Building Products project.

WORK TO RESULT IN OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OF

I-95/I-895 RAMPS IN BALTIMORE CITY

NEXT WEEK

 

WHAT:          Weather permitting, the following ramp closures and detours are scheduled to take place next week.

                 

The ramp from southbound I-95 to Boston Street (Exit 57) will be closed temporarily to traffic.  Traffic will be detoured to Keith Avenue (Exit 56), to northbound I-95, to Boston Street (Exit 57).

The ramp from northbound I-895 to ODonnell Street (Exit 11B) will be closed temporarily to traffic.  Traffic will be detoured to ODonnell Street (Exit 11A), to Ponca Street, to ODonnell Street.   

Westbound ODonnell Street between I-95 access ramps and ODonnell Street Cutoff will be closed temporarily to traffic.  Traffic will be detoured to Boston Street, to ODonnell Street Cutoff, to ODonnell Street. 

WHEN:          Monday, May 19, through Thursday, May 22, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

WHY:              Crews will be cleaning and painting.

OVERNIGHT LANE CLOSURES OF SOUTHBOUND I-95 IN

WHITE MARSH FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 13 - 17

Closures part of I-95 Express Toll LanesSM Project

 

 

WHAT:          Weather permitting, two lanes of southbound I-95 at the MD 43 interchange (White Marsh Boulevard) in Northeast Baltimore will be temporarily closed for overnight work.                         

WHEN:          Double-lane closures will occur on southbound I-95 Tuesday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.  After 10 p.m., periodic 5-10 minute traffic drags, during which police will bring vehicles to a reduced pace prior to the work zone, may occur.  Friday and Saturday, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, double-lane closures will occur without traffic drags.

Please note that additional temporary, overnight closures may occur as necessary into next month.  The MDTA will issue traffic advisories when additional closures are scheduled. 

WHY:             Crews will be erecting steel as part of the reconstruction of the I-95/MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) interchange for the Maryland Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETLSM) Project.

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

 Scheduled for the Week of May 11 - 17, 2014

 

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 

 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

REMINDER:  MANDATORY HEADLIGHT USE AREA signs have been installed.  Headlights are required at all times on the bridge.

The eastbound span may be closed Sunday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closures.

The westbound span may be closed Monday through Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 5, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lanes 6 or 9.

Monday through Thursday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Lane Closures for the Week of May 5, 2014

The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of May 5th thru May 8st for tunnel washing operations.

Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following mornings.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time with little notice due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.

SPEED LIMIT REDUCED FROM 55 TO 50 MPH THROUGH WORK ZONE ON SOUTHBOUND I-95 IN BALTIMORE CITY

Drivers Will See 50 mph Signs Sunday Morning

 

WHAT: Weather permitting, the speed limit will be changed from 55 mph to 50 mph on southbound I-95 from I-395 (Exit 53) to just past the MD 295 entrance ramp in Baltimore City.

 

WHEN: Saturday, May 3, from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning. Drivers should notice signs indicating the 50 mph speed limit by Sunday morning and during their Monday morning commute.

 

WHY: The speed limit decrease is part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) two-year, $66 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and the ramps serving I-95 in Baltimore City.

 

REMINDER: The speed limit on northbound I-95 between the Fort McHenry Tunnel and Caton Avenue (Exit 50) was reduced from 55 mph to 50 mph in April 2014.  Please slow down, minimize distractions and stay alert when driving through all work zones in Maryland, including the ones on northbound and southbound I-95 in Baltimore City.

OVERNIGHT CLOSURES IN

WHITE MARSH FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 5 - 8

Closures part of I-95 Express Toll LanesSM Project

 

WHAT:          Weather permitting, all lanes of northbound I-95 at the MD 43 interchange (White Marsh Boulevard) in Northeast Baltimore will be temporarily closed for overnight work.  Traffic will be detoured to Exit 67 (eastbound White Marsh Boulevard), to eastbound MD 7 (Philadelphia Road), to westbound White Marsh Boulevard, to northbound I-95.

Weather permitting, one lane in both directions of Campbell Boulevard between Honeygo Boulevard and Franklin Square Drive will be temporarily closed for overnight work. 

WHEN:          Northbound I-95 closures will occur Monday through Thursday, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. 

Single-lane closures will occur Monday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning in both directions of Campbell Boulevard between Honeygo Boulevard and Franklin Square Drive.  Periodic 5-10 minute traffic drags, during which police will bring vehicles to a reduced pace prior to the work zone, may occur.

                       Campbell Boulevard will be widened to five lanes -- two lanes in each direction and a new center left-turn lane into Nottingham Square -- for improved traffic flow.  Campbell Boulevard with underpass lighting. 

 

Reminder:  Automated Speed Enforcement equipment is operational on southbound I-95 throughout the ETL work zone.
