TWO MONTH CLOSURE OF LEFT LANE ON RAMP
FROM SOUTHBOUND I-395 TO SOUTHBOUND I-95

Southbound I-95 Lanes Split Two Lanes to the Left and One Lane to the Right

3 Lanes Split into 2 left lanes and 1 right lanne

WHAT: Three traffic lanes will split around the work zone on southbound I-95 between MD 295 and the I-395 on-ramp: two lanes to the left and one lane to the right.

The ramp from southbound I-395 to southbound I-95 exiting Baltimore City will be reduced to one lane continuously (24/7) for approximately two months.

Use the following alternate routes when exiting downtown: Key Highway to McComas Street to southbound I-95, Russell Street to southbound I-95 and Washington Boulevard to southbound I-95.

WHEN: The southbound I-95 split traffic lanes will occur from Thursday, June 19 (starting after 9 p.m.) continuously through mid-July.

The southbound I-395 lane closure will occur from Thursday, June 19 (starting after 9 p.m.) continuously through mid-August.

Please note that additional changes in traffic patterns will occur on both northbound and southbound I-95 throughout the summer.  All dates and times are approximate and dependent on weather.

WHY: Toll Dollars At Work.  The new traffic patterns are part of the Maryland Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) two-year, $66 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and the ramps serving I-95 in Baltimore City.

Plan ahead and expect delays during peak periods especially during weekday evening rush hours.  Currently, traffic lanes on northbound I-95 split around the work zone between the Caton Avenue on-ramp and the Fort McHenry Tunnel: one lane to the left and three lanes to the right.  Use the right lanes for Baltimore exits 52-55 and the left lane for traffic through the tunnel.
