Facility: (I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel

(I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel Closures for the Week of August 25, 2014

The following closures are tentatively scheduled at the Fort McHenry Tunnel the week of August 25, 2014 through August 31, 2014:

  • Monday 8/25 - Bore 2 and Bore 4 closed for maintenance operations
  • Tuesday 8/26 - Bore 2 and Bore 4 closed for maintenance operations
  • Wednesday 8/27 -  Bore 2 and Bore 3 closed for mainenance operations
  • Thursday 8/28 -  Bore 2 and Bore 3 closed for mainenance operations
  •  Friday 8/29 - No Closures
  •  Saturday 8/30 - No Closures 
  • Sunday 8/31 No Closures

This is a tentative schedule subject to change due to weather, heavy traffic, incidents or priority closures.

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Lane Closures for the Week of August 25, 2014

The EAST Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of August 25th & 26th for maintenance operations.  Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following mornings.

The WEST Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evening of August 27th for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following morning.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.

Bay Bridge (US 50/301)

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of Aug. 24 – 30, 2014 

 

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.

REMINDER: Headlights are required at all times on the bridge.

 

The eastbound span may be closed Monday through Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closures.

One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 5, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lanes 6 or 9.

Monday through Wednesday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up. 

The MDTA offers the following travel tips for the summer months:

·         Travel off-peak when heading to and from the Eastern Shore.  The best times to travel the Bay Bridge on the holiday weekend include:

  •          Thursday – before noon and after 10 p.m.
  •          Friday – before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
  •          Saturday – before 7 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
  •          Sunday – before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
  •          Labor Day Monday – before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
