Bay Bridge (US 50/301)

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of Feb. 1 - 7, 2015

 

All work will be performed weather permitting.  The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals.  Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes. 

 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

 

REMINDER: Headlights are required at all times on the bridge.

 

The eastbound span may be closed Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closures.

One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 3, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lane 9.

Monday through Friday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up. 

Note:  Concrete repair and replacement project underway at Bay Bridge toll plaza.  Lanes 4-6 and associated toll booths remain continuously (24/7) closed.  Pay attention to overhead and portable electronic signs.

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Lane Closures for the Week of February 2, 2015

The Eastbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of Feb. 2 - 4, 2015 for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following morning.

The Westbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evening of Feb. 5, 2015 for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following morning.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.

WORK TO RESULT IN CLOSURE OF CATON AVENUE

RAMPS TO NORTHBOUND I-95

NEXT TWO WEEKENDS

 

WHAT:          Weather permitting, the ramps from eastbound and westbound Caton Avenue to northbound I-95 in Baltimore City will be closed temporarily to traffic.

From eastbound Caton Avenue, the detour route will direct motorists to Washington Boulevard, to INNER LOOP I-695, to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A).

From westbound Caton Avenue, the detour route will direct motorists to Washington Boulevard, to INNER LOOP I-695, to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A).  A second detour uses southbound I-95, to INNER LOOP  I-695 (Exit 49B), to Wilkens Avenue (Exit 12C), to OUTER LOOP I-695 to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A). 

WHEN:          Closures will occur Fridays from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Mondays, starting Friday, Jan. 16, and continuing the following weekend starting on Friday, Jan. 23.  All dates and times are approximate and dependent on weather or events.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed the weekend of Friday, Jan. 30

Closures also are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12, through Thursday, Jan. 15, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning.  Please note that additional temporary, overnight closures may occur Mondays through Thursdays between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning, as necessary.

WHY:               Toll Dollars At Work:  The ramp closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) two-year, $66 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and the ramps serving I-95 in Baltimore City.

(I-95) Fort McHenry Tunnel Closures for the Week of January 5, 2015

The following closures are tentatively scheduled at the Fort McHenry Tunnel the week of January 5, 2015 through January 11, 2015:

  • Monday 1/05 - Bore 2 and Bore 3 closed for maintenance operations
  • Tuesday 1/06 - Bore 2 and Bore 3 closed for maintenance operations
  • Wednesday 1/07 - Bore 2 and Bore 3 closed for mainenance operations
  • Thursday 1/08 - Bore 2 and Bore 3 closed for mainenance operations
  •  Friday 1/09 - Bore 2 and Bore 3 closed for maintenance operations
