NEXT TWO WEEKENDS
WHAT: Weather permitting, the ramps from eastbound and westbound Caton Avenue to northbound I-95 in Baltimore City will be closed temporarily to traffic.
From eastbound Caton Avenue, the detour route will direct motorists to Washington Boulevard, to INNER LOOP I-695, to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A).
From westbound Caton Avenue, the detour route will direct motorists to Washington Boulevard, to INNER LOOP I-695, to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A). A second detour uses southbound I-95, to INNER LOOP I-695 (Exit 49B), to Wilkens Avenue (Exit 12C), to OUTER LOOP I-695 to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A).
WHEN: Closures will occur Fridays from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Mondays, starting Friday, Jan. 16, and continuing the following weekend starting on Friday, Jan. 23. All dates and times are approximate and dependent on weather or events. In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed the weekend of Friday, Jan. 30.
Closures also are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12, through Thursday, Jan. 15, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. Please note that additional temporary, overnight closures may occur Mondays through Thursdays between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning, as necessary.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The ramp closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) two-year, $66 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and the ramps serving I-95 in Baltimore City.
