WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT CLOSURE

OF RAMP FROM NORTHBOUND MD 295

TO NORTHBOUND I-95 TONIGHT

Traffic will be detoured via I-395

 

WHAT: The ramp from northbound MD 295 (Russell Street) to northbound I-95 will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to southbound I-395, to northbound I-95.

WHEN: Weather permitting, Wednesday, Jan. 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.  In the event of inclement weather or other variables, work also may be performed Thursday, Jan. 7.

WHY: Crews will be performing concrete repairs.

For Immediate Release

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

During tunnel closures at the (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, drivers may experience 15-20 minute delays while two-way operations (during which one lane of southbound and northbound traffic is directed into the tunnel that remains open) are implemented. Closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.

The Southbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of Jan. 4, 2016 for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following morning.

The Northbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evening of Jan. 5 - 8, 2016 for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following morning.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.
