WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY RAMP CLOSURES IN

BALTIMORE CITY

 

WHAT: The ramp from westbound Eastern Avenue to northbound I-95 will be closed temporarily to traffic.  The detour route will direct motorists to Kane Street, to Dundalk Avenue, to eastbound Eastern Avenue, to northbound I-95.

The ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound Caton Avenue (Exit 50A) will be closed temporarily to traffic.  The detour route will direct motorists to northbound Caton Avenue (Exit 50B), to Benson Avenue, to Joh Avenue, to southbound Caton Avenue.

WHEN: Weather permitting, the ramp from westbound Eastern Avenue to northbound I-95 will be closed Saturday, Feb. 11, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound Caton Avenue (Exit 50A) will be closed Sunday, Feb. 12, through Thursday Feb. 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

WHY: The closure of the ramp from westbound Eastern Avenue to northbound I-95 is due to tree removal. Crews will be making bridge repairs to the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound Caton Avenue.

Bay Bridge (US 50/301)

Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the Week of Feb. 12 - 18, 2017

All work will be performed weather permitting. The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals. Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.

REMINDER: Headlights are required at all times on the bridge.

The westbound span may be closed Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections. Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon for preservation/maintenance work.

Monday through Friday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

During tunnel closures at the (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, drivers may experience 15-20 minute delays while two-way operations (during which one lane of southbound and northbound traffic is directed into the tunnel that remains open) are implemented. Closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.

The Northbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of Feb. 12-13 and 16, 2017, for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following morning.

The Southbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9:00pm on the evenings of Feb. 14-15, 2017, for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 4:00am on the following morning.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.
