Bay Bridge (US 50/301) Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns
Scheduled for the Week of Feb. 11- 17

 

All work will be performed weather permitting. The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals. Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK

REMINDER: Headlights are required at all times on the bridge.

The eastbound span may be closed Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections. Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closure.

The westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections. Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for preservation/maintenance work.

Monday through Friday, one lane will be closed for approximately 15 minutes for contractor pick-up.

WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY CLOSURES OF

I-95 RAMPS IN BALTIMORE CITY

WHAT: The ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 (Exit 52) will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to I-695 East (Outer Loop), to southbound MD 295 (Exit 7A).

The ramp from southbound I-95 to northbound I-395 (Exit 53) will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to Caton Avenue (Exit 50), to northbound I-95, to northbound I-395 (Exit 53).

The ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to eastbound McComas Street, to a u-turn onto westbound McComas Street, to southbound I-95.

WHEN: Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 will be closed Saturday, Feb. 10, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-95 to northbound I-395 will be closed Sunday, Feb. 11, from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Weather permitting, the ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 will be closed Sunday, Feb. 11, from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHY: Crews will be performing routine inspections.

The eastbound span may be closed Sunday through Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closures.

The westbound span may be closed Wednesday and Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work or routine annual inspections.  Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during the full westbound span closures.

One lane of the eastbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for preservation/maintenance work.  Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span.

When daytime two-way traffic is in effect on the westbound span, toll lanes 1 through 5, on the left side of the toll plaza, will be directed into contra-flow traffic on the westbound span.  Motorists wishing to use an E-ZPass® Only lane to access the eastbound span should use toll lanes 6 or 9.

Facility: (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel

During tunnel closures at the (I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, drivers may experience 15-20 minute delays while two-way operations (during which one lane of southbound and northbound traffic is directed into the tunnel that remains open) are implemented. Closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.

(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Lane Closures for the Week of Feb. 4, 2018

The Northbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. on the evenings of Feb 4-6, 2018, for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 5 a.m. on the following morning.

The Southbound Tunnel is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. on the evenings of Feb. 7-8, 2018, for maintenance operations. Re-opening is scheduled to take place at 5 a.m. on the following morning.

This is a tentative schedule that is subject to change at any time due to weather, traffic conditions, emergency incidents, or priority closures.

Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-395 to northbound I-95 and ramp from northbound I-95 to Hanover Street will be closed Sunday, Feb. 4, from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHY: Crews will be performing bridge repairs to the MD 295 ramp and routine inspections to the I-395 ramp and Hanover Street exit.

In addition, the previously scheduled ramp closure from southbound I-95 to northbound I-395 (Exit 53) will occur on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The detour route will direct motorists to Caton Avenue (Exit 50), to northbound I-95, to northbound I-395 (Exit 53).

IN BALTIMORE CITY

WHAT: The ramp from southbound I-95 to northbound I-395 (Exit 53) will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to Caton Avenue (Exit 50), to northbound I-95, to northbound I-395 (Exit 53).

WHEN: Weather permitting, Saturday, Feb. 3, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closure was originally scheduled for Jan. 27.

WHY: Crews will be performing routine inspections.

WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY SOUTHBOUND I-895 LANE CLOSURE IN BALTIMORE CITY

THIS SATURDAY

 

WHAT: One lane on southbound I-895 at Potee Street (Exit 7), south of the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel toll plaza, will be closed temporarily to traffic.

Note: 24/7 two-way traffic (one adjacent lane in each direction) remains on I-895 across the Patapsco Flats bridge near Baltimore/Washington Parkway. Motorists should consider I-95 as an alternate route.

WHEN: Weather permitting, Saturday, Jan. 27, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, work also may occur on Saturday, Feb. 3.

WHY: Crews will be performing routine inspections.
