MDTA POLICE RECOVER TWO LOADED GUNS

AND MARIJUANA DURING A TRAFFIC STOP

ON I-95 IN BALTIMORE COUNTY

BALTIMORE, MD – During a traffic stop earlier this week, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police arrested four people from Baltimore who were in possession of two loaded handguns and marijuana.

On Feb. 7, an MDTA Police Officer stopped 31-year-old Terry Dewayne Jones, Jr., on northbound I-95 in Baltimore County for an equipment violation on a Buick Sedan. During a subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located more than one pound of marijuana, a digital scale and two loaded handguns, one of which was reported stolen from Pennsylvania.  Jones and passenger’s 19-year-old Amber Curtis, 19-year-old Sabrina Hope Curtis and 28-year-old Dwight Trevor Weather were taken into custody without incident.

The MDTA Police charged all four suspects with two counts of possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime; two counts of engaging in drug trafficking while carrying, wearing and transporting a firearm; one count of possessing a stolen firearm; possession of CDS marijuana; possession of CDS hashish; and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Jones was charged separately with CDS possession with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a disqualifying crime. Weathers was charged separately with CDS possession with the intent to distribute. A. Curtis and S. Curtis were charged separately with possession of a firearm under the age of 21.

After processing, officers transported all four suspects to the Baltimore County Court Commissioner. They are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
