Lane Closures and Traffic Patterns

Scheduled for the week of May 26 – 30, 2026

All work will be performed weather permitting. The MDTA urges motorists to drive with caution and obey all traffic-control devices and lane-control signals. Headlights are required at all times on the bridge. Lane closures are subject to change and closure times are dependent on traffic volumes and other work variables. 

TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK 

The eastbound span may be closed Tuesday and Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning for preservation/maintenance work. The nighttime closures for the eastbound bridge deck replacement project. Learn more here. Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the full eastbound span closures.

One lane of the westbound span may be closed Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for preservation/maintenance work. 

There are no scheduled lane closures between May 21 – 25.
