AT BALTIMORE TUNNELS

BALTIMORE, MD – From Sept. 27 - 29, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police conducted an initiative to enhance highway safety and criminal interdiction along its roadways.

During the three-day initiative, MDTA officers made 196 traffic stops, from which four individuals were arrested for outstanding warrants, one individual was arrested for possession of one kilogram of cocaine, one individual was arrested for possession of 169 cartons of untaxed cigarettes, and three individuals were issued civil citations for possession of marijuana less than 10 grams.

The MDTA Police provides safety, security and service to those who use MDTA facilities and other vital transportation assets located throughout Maryland. MDTA Police’s goal is to promote highway safety and arrest criminals through enforcement and interdiction.

The MDTA Police support the MHSO Toward Zero Deaths campaign – a partnership to save lives and prevent injuries on Maryland’s roadway.  For more information, visit towardzerodeathsmd.com
