BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police made four significant arrests during recent traffic stops in Baltimore City.

On Wednesday, May 23, the MDTA Police arrested a Florida man during a traffic stop in Baltimore City for having nearly 200 counterfeit and fraudulent gift cards in his vehicle. At approximately 10:03 a.m., an MDTA Police Officer stopped 30-year- old Palm Springs, FL, resident Orelvis Ventosa Molina on northbound I-895 in Baltimore City for following another vehicle too closely. Ventosa Molina was taken into custody without incident.

On Friday, May 25, the MDTA Police arrested three people during a traffic stop for having approximately five pounds of methamphetamine in their vehicle.  At approximately 4:55 p.m., an MDTA Police Officer stopped a 2011 Mercedes on southbound I-895 in Baltimore City after it was reported that the vehicle was involved in drug trafficking. During a subsequent probable cause search, officers located approximately five pounds of methamphetamine having a street value of more than $100,000.
