NEW SPLIT TRAFFIC PATTERN ON NORTHBOUND I-95 IN BALTIMORE BY WEDNESDAY MORNING

24/7 Left-Lane Closure Continues On Northbound I-95 Between Caton & Russell

#i95bmore

WHAT: The left lane on northbound I-95 between Exit 50 (Caton Avenue) and Exit 52 (Russell Street) remains closed 24/7. The remaining three northbound I-95 traffic lanes will split with one lane to the left and two lanes to the right in this area. To use Exit 51 (Washington Boulevard), you MUST use the two right lanes prior to the split. REMINDER: To exit at Russell Street, motorists should follow signs to use Exit 50, continue on the ramp to northbound I-95, and exit at Russell Street.

                                NB1-2

Northbound I-95

WHEN: Weather permitting, the northbound I-95 split will be in effect by Wednesday, July 22, for approximately two weeks.

WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The split traffic pattern is part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) two-year, $64 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and ramps in Baltimore City.

REMINDERS:

Access to downtown via Exit 53 (I-395) from northbound I-95 is reduced from two lanes to one. Motorists can only access Exit 53 using the far right lane after Exit 52.

• To get downtown from northbound I-95, use Exit 52 or Exit 55 (Key Highway) as alternate routes. If coming from the south, use northbound MD 295 to get downtown. Visit i95bmore.com for maps of alternate routes into downtown.

• Use I-695 or I-895 if traveling thru Baltimore City.

• Work-zone speed limits on northbound and southbound I-95 are reduced to 50 mph. Work-zone safety speed cameras in use.
